Is he interested, or are you reading too much into it?
He sends a thoughtful message, remembers a detail from your conversation or seems pleased to see you. Then the interaction goes quiet, and you start wondering what it meant. Does he like you, or is this simply how he is with a friend?
This free Does He Like Me? quiz helps you sort through what you actually know. It starts with the context of your connection and anything he has clearly communicated. When a behavior pattern is useful, it looks at who starts optional contact, how conversation flows and whether plans are carried through.
Your result will not claim to read his mind or calculate your chances of a relationship. It will explain the pattern in your answers, identify what remains uncertain and suggest a respectful next step. You do not need to enter an email or create an account to read it.
How this quiz works
Think about one man and your direct interactions over the last six weeks, or since you met if that was more recent. A current boundary still matters even if he stated it earlier.
The first four questions cover the situation, how much direct contact you have had, any current limits and whether he has expressed romantic interest. Sometimes those answers are enough for a useful result. For example, a clear answer about dating matters more than a long list of possible signs.
If the interaction needs more context, you will continue with questions about contact, conversation and plans. Choose “Not enough opportunity or I can’t tell” when a situation has not happened often enough to judge. You do not have to turn an unknown into a yes or a no.
The full route has 18 questions and takes an estimated 3–5 minutes. You can review an answer before submitting. Some routes finish sooner because more questions would not make the conclusion more useful.
Does he like you, or is he just being friendly?
A friendly person can listen closely, remember your interests and enjoy spending time with you. Those behaviors can also appear in a developing romantic connection. Research on attraction and behavior describes overlap with rapport-related behavior, so one warm moment cannot carry the whole interpretation.
This quiz separates a positive interaction from a romantic conclusion. You might have easy conversations and reliable plans while remaining friends. You might also have too little contact to recognize a pattern at all. Neither situation needs to become a dramatic verdict about what he secretly feels.
An explicit romantic statement or an invitation clearly understood as a date provides more specific information about what has been communicated. Even then, it describes that choice at that time. It does not guarantee exclusivity, a relationship or continued interest.
Three parts of mutual effort
Starting contact
Does he sometimes open a conversation, return to a topic or suggest optional time together? This area describes participation. It does not assume he should always initiate because he is a man, or that you should wait silently for him to make every move.
Reciprocal conversation
When you talk, is there room for both people's thoughts and experiences? A conversation can be short and still feel two-way. Long messages, frequent compliments or entertaining stories do not automatically mean the exchange is reciprocal.
Follow-through
When you both choose a plan, does he help make it happen? This can include settling a time, carrying through with an agreed call or suggesting a workable alternative when an ordinary plan changes. The quiz does not expect constant availability.
Your report keeps these areas separate. Being engaging in conversation does not supply missing information about plans. Having a quiet communication style does not automatically cancel the effort you have directly observed.
He texts me, but does that mean he likes me?
Texting can make an interaction feel close while leaving its meaning unclear. A quick reply, a heart emoji or a late-night message is not enough for this quiz to label the connection romantic. Neither is a slow reply enough to label it uninterested.
Think about the exchange itself. Does he contribute something of his own? Does he sometimes restart a conversation after it naturally ends? If you agree to talk or do something together, is there practical follow-through?
These questions help describe what happens between you. They do not tell you why it happens. Avoid turning response times, online status or read receipts into a monitoring routine. You can reflect on a conversation without checking his accounts or asking other people to investigate.
What if he replies warmly but never makes plans?
Warm replies can feel promising, especially if you are usually the one starting the conversation. But replying and helping a connection move forward are different actions. This quiz does not treat one as a substitute for the other.
If you have already discussed optional time together, reflect on whether the details became mutual. If you have never had enough opportunities to make a plan, choose unknown. The absence of a situation is different from repeatedly observing that he does not participate in it.
You do not have to keep increasing your effort to earn certainty. Decide what level of contact feels comfortable for you, without using withdrawal as a test or a tactic to make him chase you.
What about a shy man or someone who rarely initiates?
Shyness is not a hidden yes, and confidence is not proof of attraction. The quiz does not diagnose his personality or decide what he would do under different circumstances.
Use the communication you actually know. A person might contribute to plans more readily than start a message, or communicate differently in a group and one-to-one. The three areas can therefore produce an uneven result. That means the pattern is uneven; it is not a judgment of his intentions.
There is no rule here that men always pursue someone they like. There is also no rule that lack of participation must mean secret feelings. Leave what you cannot know open.
Mixed signals and recent changes
An earlier period of frequent contact can dominate your impression even after the interaction changes. The quiz asks about recent direction so that an old positive pattern does not hide a current decrease or inconsistency.
It cannot explain the reason for that change. Instead, the report keeps the uncertainty visible and helps you choose your own response. A variable pattern is not enough to label him manipulative, emotionally unavailable or secretly in love.
If you have already asked him out and are waiting for an answer, more favorable signs are not a reason to send another invitation. An unclear or unanswered response is not an agreement. You can leave the invitation there and decide how to use your own time.
Clear words and boundaries come first
If he has said he wants friendship, declined a date or asked for space, that answer matters even if he remains kind. You do not need to gather enough positive cues to challenge it. The quiz can finish early in these situations because a behavior score would not change the next step.
If he has expressed current romantic interest or accepted an invitation clearly described as a date, the useful question is what you both want to do next. Keep the plan clear and remember that either person can change their mind.
Context matters too. Attention from someone doing a job or providing a service is not automatically personal interest. A situation involving authority or dependence also needs more care than a crush checklist can provide. This quiz does not assign a romantic signal score to those settings.
A clear next step, without turning it into a test
If you want a date, interact as peers and have no current boundary or unanswered invitation to respect, a simple invitation is one option:
“I’ve enjoyed talking with you. Would you like to get coffee with me as a date? It’s completely okay if not.”
Choose an activity that suits both of you. You do not need to wait for him to ask because he is a man, and you do not have to ask at all if you prefer to keep the connection platonic. Make room for a free answer, accept a no and avoid repeating the invitation through other channels.
If he has already declined or asked for distance, this script is not the next step. Respect the answer you have rather than using a quiz result to reopen it.
